Crooklands
Originally just a temporary slipway for access to the IWA Trailboat Festival in 2006 for the Northern Reaches section of the Lancaster Canal, it has been made more permanent with the base being concreted over and wooden capping on the sides. It will be used again for IWA Trailboat festival 2015.
When used for events, due to the limited space around the head of the slipway, access is under the strict control of the harbour master. Boats waiting launch or recovery MUST wait on the Festival site to be called up to the slipway.
At other non busy times, the Lancaster Canal Trust would like to see it used regularly.
Canal and River Trust licence required to cruise the canal.
Slipway has good depth and place alongside to drop/pull up and slide engine.
