Wilts & Berks Canal Trust’s Food & River Festival has been developing over the last few years and now has it’s own website . 

This year, you can even book your boat in for the Festival via the web site. There are a limited number of pontoons for steam boats and those who need special access the bank. So early bookings, with your comments, would help the organisers ensure we provide you with the best possible opportunity to have a really enjoyable weekend. The Festival team are working hard to improve the Festival year on year and would love you to be part of it.  


Saturday 23rd – Monday 25th May > IWA National Trailboat Festival

The Wey & Arun Canal Trust is to host the popular IWA National Trailboat Festival in 2020, which will take place on the Summit Level of the Wey & Arun Canal in Alfold/Dunsfold on the Surrey and Sussex border. The annual event will take place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (23rd-25th May, 2020).

A favourite among the UK’s trailboat community, the IWA National Trailboat Festival promises to be packed full of events and entertainment to attract both boaters and non-boaters. A full programme of activities for all ages will include live music, food stalls, demonstrations and competitions. There will be an award ceremony at the festival, as well as an illuminated boat parade.

The festival aims to raise the profile of the Wey & Arun Canal and its restoration, and will take place on the spot where the Wey & Arun Junction Canal was officially opened on the 28th September 1816 by the 3rd Earl of Egremont.
